Pattern deadend

I am a beginner who has hit a wall late in the instructions for back of jumper …
Am trying to make sense of the instruction to
Keeping patt correct at raglan edges, dec 2 sts (inside 5 sts as before) at each end of next row, then in every foll 4th row until 37 (39-41-43-45) sts rem.

Is it telling me to revert back to 3rd and 4th row (in my case I am to decrease from 91 to 43) and instead of k3tog and sl 1 k2tog I am dec 2 stitches inside of the 5 stitches at each end [ K1, (P1, K1) twice and (K1, P1) twice, K1] as per 3rd row…
Will this be new 1st row and so 4th would be a ourl row ??? that does not sound right OR do I count 1 after this and every 4th would be knit side ???

When it says to work 3 rows - what should they look like ???

So close but yet so far !!!

SHAPE RAGLAN ARMHOLES –
Cast off 1 (2-2-3-3) sts at beg of next 2 rows … 97 (107-117-127-137) sts.
3rd row – K1, (P1, K1) twice, K3tog, knit to last 8 sts, sl 1, K2tog, psso, (K1, P1) twice, K1 … 93 (103-113-123-133) sts.
4th row – (P1, K1) twice, purl to last 4 sts, (K1, P1) twice. **
Rep 3rd and 4th rows 0 (2-5-8-10) times … 93 (95-93-91-93) sts.
Next row – (K1, P1) twice, knit to last 4 sts, (P1, K1) twice.
Next row – (P1, K1) twice, purl to last 4 sts, (K1, P1) twice.
Rep last 2 rows 1 (0-0-0-0) times.
Keeping patt correct at raglan edges, dec 2 sts (inside 5 sts as before) at each end of next row, then in every foll 4th row until 37 (39-41-43-45) sts rem
Work 3 rows.
Leave rem sts on a stitch-holder.

Welcome to KnittingHelp!
This can be confusing especially when you’re starting out.
You can consider this row to be the new row 4:
K1, (P1, K1) twice, K3tog, knit to last 8 sts, sl 1, K2tog, psso, (K1, P1) twice, K1 … 93 (103-113-123-133) sts.

So work this row after
Rep last 2 rows 1 (0-0-0-0) times.
then work 3 rows (a purl side, a knit side and a purl side) and then repeat the dec row. That puts the decrease rows all on the knit side.

When you work 3 rows, that means to maintain the pattern you have been using but without decreases.

thanks so much …
so the 3 rows that follow “the new 4th row” should they also start K1 (p1,k1) twice on each end or should they be entirely rows of purl, knit, purl
then back to next “new 4th row”?

Continue the k1p1 pattern at the edges. That’s what they’re referring to when they say, “keeping the pattern correct”. They want that rib pattern to continue up the sides as you decrease.
