Pattern Confussion

A friend of mine sent me a pattern and some yarn so I could knit a bolero for my 3 yr old daughter. Now I’ve knitted 3 other sweaters and have done just fine. This one is confusing me a little.

It tells me to cast on 62 sts (which I get)
Row 1: k2, p2, to the end, k the last 2 sts.
row 2: P2, k2 across
These 2 rows will now be referred to as 2x2 rib. ( i get this part too)
Work 9 row more in 2x2 rib.

So my question is do i knit 9 row or do I knit the 2 ribbing row 9 more times for a total of 18 more rows.

Only 9 more rows, so you’d end up with a total of 11 rows. A row is just one row, no matter which stitch pattern it is.

Thank you  That is what I was thinking but hey you never know.

But really, is that any better than what the pattern said?
