Pattern confusion

hi I’m making the Calvin ribbed turtleneck and I’m stuck here;

Work around in St st and rib patterns
as established without increasing, working
increases into rib pattern where necessary
and slipping the markers as you come to
them.
Work rnds 2 and 3 a total of
times, changing to longer circulars when
necessary [front and back sections will both
have sts each between
markers], AT THE SAME TIME start
working the stitches you increase on front
and back in ribbing as well starting after the
15th increase round. When all
the increasing is done, this should make a
section of 12 ribbed sts at the beginning and
end of both front and back sections at
underarms while the rest of the body is
stockinette.

SOrry I want to know is do I continue on like a mirror image of the st st and rib patterns down the side of the sweater? So what ever number of st st and rib pattern I have under the sleeve I knit continuing down the side of the jumper?

thanks

From the pictures I’ve seen you are supposed to have ribbing on each side of the sweater below the arms. I guess it would amount to 24 stitches of ribbing on each side based on this information:

When all the increasing is done, this should make a section of 12 ribbed sts at the beginning and end of both front and back sections at underarms while the rest of the body is stockinette.
If you have 12 at the beginning and end of the front it would end up-- 12, the front, 12 and the same on the back, so when the two sides come together you would have 24 on each side.

thanks

from these instructions… shouild I continue to increase in the sleeve part, or only increase in the front and back sections?

thanks
