Pattern confusion for my first big project!

Ok, I need help with deciphering this pattern please

I’m making a three colourway puffed sleeve cardi and I’m quite new to knitting. It’s for my daughter and i’ve cast on 75 st and it’s in a stripe pattern.

I’ve started with the back and this is where I’m stuck…

“Cont in striped st st, shaping side seams by dec 1 st at each end of 3rd (next, next, 3rd, 3rd) and every foll 12th row until 67 sts rem.”

Can someone explain in layman terms? I’ve written exactly as the pattern has described

Thanks for your help in advance! :knitting:

The directions in parentheses are for different sizes. If you were making the first size (the smallest) or the 2 largest sizes, you would decrease at each end of the 3rd row and every 12th row after that until you have 67sts left. So if you call the next row row 1, you would decrease on rows 3,15,27 and 39.

Thanks Salmonmac!

I was staring and staring at the pattern and figured that this might mean that, gosh - it took me a long time! But having you confirm this means I did have the right train of mind!
