Pattern clarification - short rows, wrp-t

I’m using this pattern to knit some elbow patches for my sweater:
https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2014/01/09/lauras-loop-knit-elbow-patches/

I need some help deciphering this particular line: Next Two Rows: Knit to last 8 stitches, wrp-t.

When I have 8 stitches left on my needle, I do the wrap step and then I turn my work so that the stitches that were on my right needle are now on my ‘left’. Do I:

  1. Carry on knitting until there are eight stitches on the ‘left needle’, wrp-t and then knit all the remaining stitches on the new ‘left’ needle

OR,

  1. Knit all the stitches on my ‘left’ needle, start a new row, then do the wrp-t once I reach the last 8 stiches and then knit all the remaining stitches on the new ‘left’ needle.

I hope that wasn’t too confusing to read. I’d appreciate any help

Welcome to the forum!
“Next Two Rows: Knit to last – (8 , 8) stitches, wrp-t.
Next Two Rows: Knit to last 6 (6, 6) stitches, wrp-t.”

Knit to the last 8sts on the left needle, w&t, knit to the last 8sts, w&t. That’s 2 rows.
After the turn knit to the last 6sts, w&t, knit the last 6sts, w&t That’s the next 2 rows.
In the short row section you won’t be knitting to the end of the rows but always turning (and switching the needles in your hands/) before the end of the row. On the final row, knit to the end.

Thank you so much! Now I can finally start making some progress!
