Pattern armholes

I am stuck on my directions (baby sweater)entitled shape reglan armholes. Leading up to this point I was following a cable pattern of 4 rows for the back until back measured 6 inches. I ended up getting to 6 Inc at the end of row 4 of pattern . Now quoting directions it says:

Shape reglan arm holes
*keeping pattern correct cast off 3 sts at beg of next two rows.
3rd row. -K1,S1,K1,psso, work in pTtern to last 3 sts, K2tog, k1.

4th row.- p2, work to last 2 sts, p2 *.
rep the last 2 rows until 29 sts remain

Do I knit 2 Rows (row one and two of pattern)
Then start with row 3?

I did this And then saw the star at end or row 4. Now I Am confused. I did end up finishing back -6 inches- at row 4 and just Assumed I had to knitt first 2 rows and cAst off 3 before I started 3rd row in this section

The ‘last 2 rows’ would be rows 3 and 4 for the shaping or decreasing instructions, but keep to the cable pattern as much as you’re able to. So you BO sts on the next 2 rows which are R 1 and 2 of the the cable pattern, then do row 3 and 4 of both the shaping and cable instructions, and keep repeating rows 3 and 4 while you start the cable pattern over at row 1. If you don’t have enough sts after casting off and decreasing, then just keep the edge sts in knits and purls.

Ok. I just figured out else where in pattern they refrence * to * so I am guessing I ignore it till that point
