Hi, everyone. I have a pattern that has 45 stitches on the row. I am supposed to repeat an 8 stitch pattern 5 times, for a total of 40 stitches. The pattern says nothing about what to do with the other 5, except that one of them is supposed to be knit. That still leaves 4 unaccounted for in the instructions. I have contacted the pattern designer, who was no help. She was able to confirm I had the right number of stitches on my needle. Not a lot of help if I don’t know what to do with them.
What pattern is this?
It’s one in Creative Knitting’s Spring 2017 issue. But, that doesn’t matter as much as how I divide something evenly by a number that does not mathematically divide into it.
It helps to know what you’re knitting and what the pattern is saying. Sometimes we can figure out what it’s supposed to say.
