Patch Pocket Application

Hello knitters! Long time no post. Well I’m finishing up a sweater that I designed myself, and its time to apply the patch pocket I made. In the vogue knitting book they suggest “overcast” stitch…I’ve tried it, but it seems strangely deceptive. I just tried to apply the patch again on a swatch using mattress stitch, and the result is quite nice.
Does anyone have any tips for applying the pocket? Why wouldn’t mattress stitch be suggested? In Nancie Wisemans book of finishing techniques, she says an improperly attached pocket will “destroy the garment”. She really says destroy. Is my sweater going to explode due to faulty wiring?!?

THanks!
Kilgore

Well I have no answer for you but it has been so long since we have seen you that I wanted to come in and give you a  !

and a :teehee: at the faulty wiring. I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t work the way you did it but there could be a reason why I refuse to make anything that makes me think too hard!

Don’t be such a stranger!

This a good site for pockets
