I am interested in purchasing an antique passap machine. I know nothing about these machines as I am just learning how to knit. can anyone tell me about them.

what is a “passap machine” suppose to do?:???: Does it knit, make ice cream…what;) ??

You may try ebay. I found a few there. I’m not sure it’s what you’re looking for though as I’ve never bought one nor heard of one!

It’s a knitting machine brand which is no longer being made, I understand. I’ve seen them on eBay from time to time. If you find one, be sure it comes with a manual.

It knits

For someone starting out with a knitting machine, I would recommend a LK-150 Silver Reed. It’s manual and I own one and love it. I have been hand knitting for years and wanted to try another way to knit. I must admit I am still learning the machine and the techniques from the CD ( you need that). It also comes with a manual. It will take some practice but it’s great.

I can remember my Gran having about 4 knitting machines. When she got Alzhiemers and moved into the home a lot of the stuff in her house got sold off to pay for the fees.

sigh I never did find out what happened to her knitting stuff

I have a Passap M201 Speed-o-Knit for sale. It’s mostly complete and has manuals. I think it’s from the late 1940s or 1950s. If you contact me, I can give you more information.

Cheers…
