Hey everyone! I finished my first Palindrome scarf - I love it SO much more than a regular cabled scarf! Its so great that it looks good on both sides 
I used Caron Simply Soft in Violet with size 9 needles, and it’s on Ravelry, too. (I LOVE IT!!!) This is definitely my favorite scarf pattern by far! I love the Irish Hiking Scarf, but reversible cables are SO amazing to have on a scarf!

Looks great! I want to make a scarf for my DBF’s sister for Christmas and I was thinking of doing a cable scarf in purple…this one might have to be it!

Hey everyone! Thanks so much for the awesome feedback - you’re all much too kind, though that’s not something I’m going to complain about!
I used exactly two 3 oz. skeins of Simply Soft - honestly, I had less than a yard left. I probably would have made about two or three more cable repeats if I had had more yarn, but I couldn’t justify getting another skein just for that. It’s plenty long enough, but it used exactly that much. I wouldn’t personally go any smaller.

Question: is your scarf EXACTLY the same on both sides? On the “back side” of mine, it looks slightly different.

Hey, mine does look the same on the front and back (as far as I can tell…)
It’s not completely symmetrical like the Irish Hiking Scarf (the last two stitches on the left side are knits, but the last two on the right side are purls… know what I mean?), but the front and back seem to be the same… the pattern is the same on both sides (when you knit the WS or the RS, it’s the exact same)
So I don’t really know how to help you, sorry. But maybe you can look at the pics of my scarf and see if that helps you? Or ask Silver, she’d know for sure if it’s supposed to be the same on both sides.
