P0 mean? Need Help understanding terminology

Please help. I have a pattern that calls for p0[1,1] …what does p0 mean?

Does it mean Purl Over? Does it mean to Purl one? does it mean not to purl at all? Please help.

Also what does it mean to “Round one: work pattern in set”? Does this mean to start on the first row for the pattern design I’m doing? Because certainly 1 round will not be able to do the entire design, however what is your interpretation?

Your help is greatly appreciated! And I just love this site. I’m new and a beginning knitter.

I think it means to Purl Zero (next size Purl 1, and the Next Size Purl 1)
otherwise I have no idea

What does Purl zero mean? Thanks for your help

The numbers are for different sizes. If you’re knitting the smaller size, you don’t purl anything – just move to the next instruction. If you’re knitting the middle size, purl 1, etc.

It’s confusing, but it saves the pattern writer from writing “For medium and large, purl; for small, skip to next stitch.”

thanks so much for explaining that. Now I can move on
