The video does not show this sequence. Do I place the yarn behind the needle, then wrap or just carry the yarn up over the needle, then knit the next stitch
P yo k. How do I do this yarn over?
Just lay the yarn loosely over the top of the needle and knit. It would be the same as moving the yarn to the back and wrapping the needle in anycase.
Ok thanks. That is what I have been doing but the hole seems
a bit smaller than the yarn overs when I follow a knit then yo and purl.

It is a little smaller, but they’ll even out when you wash or block the item. You can do the knit to purl YO backwards by just laying the yarn loosely over the needle from the knit st to the purl, but you have to remember to work it tbl on the next row or it’ll close up.
