OUT of Control and LOVING IT!

Ok…Umm…

I’ve lost all CONTROL!!! :shock:

Last wk. I ordered some Boye dpns in sizes 3-6, clover dpns size 6, 8. Then a few days after that some Bryspun 5" dpns, sizes 3-8.

Yesteday decided to order the other 2 boye dpns I was missing size 1, and 2. Ordered from Herrschners. Worked out good too…cuz I had recieved there catalog in the mail w/ a coupon for free s/h with no minimum purchase. So… :cheering:

Then today ordered a set of Bryspun 7.5" dpns sizes 6-10. :blush: Also ordered some Brittany dpns 5" sizes 1-8…and 7.5" sizes 6-10.

WHEW!! I was not sure if I should go ahead and order the Brittany’s but dh is like order them. Go ahead :smiley:

Then :blush: …we go to Barnes n’ Noble supposedly just for 20 mins. Well…we end up being there for almost 2 hrs. My dh got his comp./gadget/electronic mags, ds got 2 bks., and dd got some reading bks.

Me? Umm…LOL I’ve been totally obsessed w/ socks lately. :shock: As you can see with all the needle buying.
Anyway here are the bks. I got:

Sensational Knitted Socks : Really AWESOME! :happydance: LOVE IT!! Tons of info! :inlove:
Knitting Vintage Socks : Very interesting
Knit Socks! (the lil sock shape one)
The Knitting Answer Book (sm. lil reference bk.) Cool deal! :wink:

…and my non-knitting bk. that I had wanted since I heard it was coming out…“For Laci” by Sharon Rocha. (also got my mom a copy she had been wanting to read it as well…)

I don’t know where I’m gonna find time to read “For Lacy”…but I HAD TO GET IT! I thought of getting the CD …but I enjoy reading it. So I’m gonna have to MAKE TIME.

He was calling me from asking me, “What’s the deal…Did you order your needles?” I was like…“Umm, not yet…” :?? ( I was unsure of what to order…just wanted to make sure I was making the right decision…He’s like, “Go ahead and order 'em…if not you can exchange it for yarn or whatever.” I’m like,…“Ya, that’s true.”

Then he gets home later that today and I’m ordering it and just about to click SUBMIT ORDER…and I start questioning if I should order all the Brittanys and a few more Bryspun. He sits next to me and clicks SUBMIT.
He’s like,“there too late now…” I guess no more thinking about it. :shock:

YAAAAY! I’m so glad there is someone else out there that gets excited over double pointed needles!!! Sometimes I feel like the only freak that likes them. :shock: I’d love to know what you think of the Brittanys…I’ve been thinking about buying some. I recently started a sock obsession, as well, and have been wondering about where to get shorter double pointeds.

Actually…I love having the option of using different materials for needles. I get bored VERY EASILY…VERY! :shock: So it’s fun to choose which needle I feel like using for whatever I’m working on. :wink:

Now that I think about it… :thinking: I just LOVE NEEDLES!!! :happydance: Got the collecting bug I guess…sigh

Yep, these will be my first 5" needles. I can’t wait to try 'em out after hearing how much people like the shorter ones for socks. I’ll have to post a lil review of ‘em once I get them and get some socks goin’. :thumbsup:

Yep, tons of ideas in Sensational Knitting.

I have to say this though, OMG…“Knitting Vintage Socks” is SOOOO cool!!! :cheering: I’ve always been interested in old things…traditional type furniture,…how people used to dress in the 1800, 1900, all that stuff is just SOOOOOOOOO interesting to me. I’m just drawn to it. Well, I can’t say enough about this bk.! I mean it is so cool how they have patterns in there listed in the table of contents with the years next to it. (…but accomadated with todays yarns, etc.) OMG!!! :inlove: 1887, 1889, 1900, 1914, 1895, etc. I almost fell on the floor!!! :blush: My 3 fav things: oldie things, socks, and knitting …all wrapped up into one! OH GEEZ!! :cheering: I’m so excited about this bk!!! :happydance:

btw Amy…Thanks for such an awesome info filled site!! This past Dec. 28 or so was my 1 yr. knit-a-versary! :lol: After I learned to knit I thought…socks will be too hard…but OMG with Silver’s Tutorial and your site, some bks., etc. I did it and am HOOKED!!! :inlove:

Oh no… I think I’ve found another knitting thing to spend money on. :rollseyes:

I thought I was all done buying DPN’s because I have all the sizes of the Clover 7" ones. Now I’m thinking maybe I should get some shorter ones… I am making mittens right now and the longer ones do seem to get in the way.

Does anyone make 5" bamboo DPN’s?

Well…

Brittany DPNs are 5" (which I just got today :cheering: …ordered a mess of 'em LOL) they’re wood though…

Then there are Crystal Palace bamboo dpns…they are 6".

I’m working on a hat with my Denises…I had planned on a sock next with my 5" Bryspun dpns… (wanted to use 'em cuz the feel like Denises…got that out of my system since I’m using them on the hat…) So now LOL I think I’ll knit them with my Brittany’s. Hehee…!! I’m sooo fickle! :blush: Darn needles…I LOVE THEM! :happydance:
