Other yarns for towels/washcloths/duster covers?

I love my Sugar n’ Cream, but what other yarns work for household knitting? Is mercerized cotton okay? What about cotton/acrylic like TLC Cotton Plus or Lion Brand Cotton-Ease?

TIA!

Sure, any cotton will work. For my dishcloths I use Tahki Cotton Classic. The colors stay brighter longer with less fading, they don’t stain as easily.

I’ve used linen yarn and like the results for facecloths. It would probably be fine for dishcloths too.

I’ve used the cotton ease for a dishcloth and it works and washes very well

I love the Plymouth Wildflowers cotton. The colors stay bright and I bleach all my towel loads. Also very soft and flexible for wringing out if you have any trouble with hand/wrist pain. I do, and I find that Sugar N Cream makes my hands hurt to wring the cloths out that are made from them.
