OT- Thoughts & Prayers Please

I live not very far from Virgina Tech, and my husband works there. This morning there was a shooting on campus, one dead, at least 8 wounded. It’s a small town in Virginia, and nothing like this has ever happened before. If you’ve been watching CNN or Fox News today, it’s been all over. I have several friends on campus, and my husband is at work there now.

Please keep the families and students in your thoughts and prayers today… they need all they can get. Unfortunately, we’re having extremely high winds and they can’t get helicopters in to evacuate those who were wounded, they have to be driven by ambulance 20 minutes to the nearest hospital.

Wow, I just saw the CNN.com story on all that - pretty nuts! I hope they catch the other gunman soon, and your husband gets home safe. We have a few friends who are VaTech alums, I’m sure they’re worried now too.

Husband is fine… second gunman is dead… at least 20 students dead, more wounded…

A friend of mine was seriously wounded in a shooting at University of Iowa, today’s news just made me feel sick. :crying:

My daughter is an engineering student at Tech. She is fine, thank godness and she has located all of her friends except for two and they were supposed to be at the gym. Please keep the prayers coming.

As of right now there are 22 dead and multiple wounded, dorms are on lock down today and tomorrow. My husband was working on his PhD there in Norse Hall until he moved up here to UVA when we got married. The last of the shootings were in the Engineering Hall. He hasn’t been able to get in touch with anyone in his old lab as of yet.

Our prayers are with all those who are dead or wounded as a result of this.
