My son’s right hand was crushed under one and a half tons of pressure today, in an industrial accident, which took place at his job in a lithography studio. He has many deep cuts on the back of his hand, and the lower bone of his thumb is crushed for sure. He has been stitched and casted, but we see the orthopedic surgeon soon, to determine what, if anything, more needs to be done for him.
Fortunately, he did not lose his hand, which can and has happened in accidents such as these, and will eventually recover the use of his thumb. No permanent harm is done, thank GOD. He is resting now, but please pray for his continued recovery.
It looks like it is all going to work out fine in the end, but his father and I were quite shaken (as was my son) by this. Thank you, in advance, for all your prayers.
I will definitely keep him in my thoughts and hope he has use of his right hand in the future, and that he has no permanent damage. Send my “Feel better” to your family, and let them know that I know what they’re going through, as we had my grandfather in my hospital about a year ago, but I know it’s not the same. You can get through this, I know you will!
Warm prayerful thoughts for your son and your family and his medical team to return him back to new! I shudder to even begin to imagine the pain he must have. Hoping all is well and everyone is taken care of!
THANK YOU ALL soooooo much for your prayers! You are such a blessing!
His name is Adam. He is 24 years old, will be 25 in May.
He just woke up to eat a bite and take some more antibiotics and pain meds. We’ll have him see the orthopedic doc tomorrow.
(Pray for me too, I’ve got work waiting for me that HAS to get done, and I’m at home, taking care of him, NOT at work, doing it…yikes! But he is my priority… God will make a way for me to get it all done.)
Yes, it was his dominant hand, he is right handed. Not gonna be using the tv remote for a while. Got a pic of his ouchie. You can see how swollen it got - after it stopped being FLAT. Won’t show you under the bandages, tooooooo gory. My poor husband about passed out while they were stitching him up. It was pretty grusome. Thought I was gonna have to carry them both home. :teehee:
i hope he is keeping it elevated. did they give you clear instructions when they sent him home with you? if not, call back. his after-care will be very important. so sorry to hear of his accident.
