OT: Ok, now I really feel old!

I see that Mr Barbera of Hanna Barbera fame (Flintstones, Jetsons, and on and on) died and so did the creator of Rocky and Bullwinkle! Sheesh, my cartoon guys are all becoming ancient and passing. That is scary!

:verysad:

I also think it’s sad that few, if any, of those old cartoons are even on TV anymore. Now they have all these strange ones one. :pout:

:verysad:

That’s horribly depressing.

Jan, some of the new cartoons are awesome. And you can still find Hanna Barbera cartoons on the teevee, they just aren’t on the “main” kids channels. They’re usually on the other ones…like Boomerang or Toon Disney.

Hey- I am only 26 and I remember all those cartoons. Granted, I saw them in reruns- but they are still way better than the junk on today!

But I also love the smurfs, carebears and strawberry shortcake cartoons from the 80’s lol.

I LOOOOOOOOVED the Fractured Fairytales on the Rocky and Bullwinkle show and Mr. Peabody and his boy, Sherman. Do you guys remember Underdog? That was one of my favorites. Yogi and Boo-Boo??? Huckleberry Hound? Chilly Willy??? Tennessee Tuxedo???
GEEZ I really am an old geezer.

I liked Top Hat and sit and watch it on boomerang in the evenings!

I love the Jetsons and watch it too and I am 53! I hate those weirdo new cartoons and sorry gals, but I think the ren and stimpie, south park and the like are awful.

I was listening a few minutes ago to 60’s on 6 on XM radio and he played a Chipmunks song that was hilarious.

I love Ren & Stimpy, but hate South Park.

And I love Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, Venture Brothers, Boondocks, Fairly Odd Parents, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Kaput & Zosky, and Invader Zim, for stuff that’s currently on the air. :teehee: I rarely watch any of it, though. (I forget to turn the TV on when it’s just me.)

My mom thinks there’s something wrong with me for watching cartoons at 23. Bah, bah I say!

Bah, is right Cawth :grrr: I’m NOT 23 and I still watch cartoons–of course, I like the old school ones best but I LOVE  animation!

We love cartoons, in my house, especially the vintage cartoons: anything by Tex Avery (Tom and Jerry, Droopy, et al.) and collect all of the older cartoons.

We were watching a Peanuts Christmas, or some current Charlie Brown cartoon just last night. My husband and I were disappointed, as the storylines have been updated to fit our current times, but there was something so negative and depressing about the entire show.

Venture Bros. rules! DH and I are a bit older than you but we’ve enjoyed about half of the shows you listed. I’m surprised you overlooked American Dad. If you haven’t been watching it, you should give it try. I was skeptical about it at first, because I thought it’d be a lamer version of Family Guy, but it’s really got a unique voice, and has grown on me quite a bit. I also notice that you didn’t put Aqua Teen Hunger Force, but that show is so hit and miss. Lately miss. There have been a few gems, though.

I’ve never seen American Dad, will have to check it out. I don’t like Aqua Teen Hunger Force. It’s very miss with me.

Oh, and I forgot the Tick!! Love that show. I was in Best Buy last night, and Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain are out on DVD now!!1 :cheering:
