OT March Roars in like a Lion!

Surprise, surprise…we’re having a snowstorm on the second day in March. It’s very pretty out with big, fluffy flakes and the trees look quite lovely. Thankfully it isn’t windy out. WNY is famous for our March storms. Glad I have the day off today, I hate driving in the snow. Well, as I would tell my preschoolers, today is a lion day!

Really? Wow, I live in St. Louis and we had a record-breaking temperature of 77 here yesterday!

I was kind of hot and sweaty all through class since out AC is controlled in Kansas City. I was praying for snow.

We had early closing/scool cancellations today, too, because of the snow. Let’s hope the lamb is planning her entrance pretty soon!

Yeah, we got the Lion yesterday. Hail, followed by sleet, followed by snow and driving winds. Lovely.

I’m with Ingrid – bring on the Lamb!!!

I just asked DH to stay over in Ohio rather than try to get home today. We’ve had white-out conditions here off and on all day. The plows can’t keep up. But my kids are still in school…

I wake up this morning expecting snow, and I look outside, there is just a little bit of wetness on the road and a smidgen of ice on the trees. They cancelled school for THAT??

I posted about our storm in my blog… it nearly wiped out my SnB last night. Winterpeg definitely earned its nickname yesterday… mild winter for like 3-4 months, and then a huge dump of snow on the first day of March! Go figger!

Oh Janelle…they canceled school one time on the THREAT of snow!!! geesh…

I wonder if Baltimore is supposed to get something? My gramma friend I take shopping said it was supposed to get icky. It is raining, but too warm. That seems to be the case here…enough preciptation, but too warm, or cold enough but NO precip. sigh…can you tell we LOVE snow days here??? hehehhe…

stay safe everyone!!

It snowed really hard here in Western Mass for about an hour and a half, and the just stopped. I was really disapointed - they put stuff down on the sidewalks all over campus like they do for a big snow storm. So now it smells like rot everywhere and we only got about 3 inches.

We’ve had a record high winter this year. It’s supposed to rain this weekend, that’s about it. I’m getting that spring itch which is even worse seeing we don’t have a house yet.

Sheesh, talk about weird weather. Rochester (which is about 45 minutes north of where I am) got absolutely nothing and we got about 10" or so. Grrr, I have to plan on an extra few minutes tomorrow morning to get all the snow off my car. Guess I should have done it earlier today, but I was feeling lazy.

Here in northern NJ they closed schools before the first flake fell. I had a real dream day as hubby got up, moved the snow blower to get ready for the clean up, stacked more wood by the back door and then got the fire going (all before 7:30 am). When he was done with that, he put some ingredients in the crock pot for stew, dropped off DD at a friend’s house, picked her up later, cleared the (paltry) snow from the driveway, paths, and back deck, fed the kids.

What did I do all day??? Take a wild guess!! :x:

(OK I did help DD with her science project and helped DS study for a science test, but overall I didn’t really pull my share of the weight!!)

Central NY didn’t get a thing. I think it all stayed to the south of us. This past weekend was a different story though…we had lake effect snow and white outs. Sun is out shining today, although it’s about 17 degrees!

We got about 7" yesterday. DH drove home anyway, and he said we had more snow than anywhere else they drove thru! Today it’s bitterly cold and windy. Ick!
