OT - I'm finally in NYS and

it’s a boy!!!

I think it’s been over a month since I’ve visited this site or even picked up my knitting other than packing it up. I made the move from Illinois to NYS and we’re finally settled in our new home near Syracuse. Now the fun begins . . .

My first project this weekend (other than buying a whole new kitchen - I don’t have a dishwasher!!) is to find all of the yarn shops in the area. Then I need to actually sit down and knit instead of unpacking and organizing with every free minute I have.

DH and I had the ultasound about a week ago and we’re have a healthy boy. We’re both thrilled and can’t wait to start buying baby stuff now that we actually have a nursery. I can’t wait to start buying baby yarn and actually making stuff now that we know the gender.

I also can’t wait to get back up to date on all of these posts! So much has happened since I left!

Congratulations, and welcome back!! :cheering:

Mega congratulations on your news and your move! :cheering:

Welcome back and congrats!! And don’t feel bad about not being able to keep up. I can’t catch up if I miss more than 3 days! LOL

Welcome to New York!! Welcome back to the forum, too! :cheering:

Hello~~ And, congratulations on the move, the new home, and the healty baby boy!! :cheering:

:happydance: Congrats on the baby boy and the move!!!

Yay, hooray!! Welcome to NY! Congrats about the baby. That’s great news.

Did you wave as you went past all the KH’ers on your trip? :waving:

Congrats on the baby boy and the move! Oh wow, moving while pregnant – that’s no fun. We moved when I was about 20 weeks pg with my second. Hope you get a chance now to put your feet up and :XX:

Congratulations! :balloons:

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Just be warned: I am determined to plan a central NY knitting get together before I give birth. We had such a good time in Illinois and it would be a shame to stop just because I moved! I hope the LYS shops are as friendly here as they were back in IL. I plan to invade soon and bring some KH’ers with me!

As soon as I find the camera (it may take weeks) I’ll take pictures of my freaked out cats adjusting to the new place and of my increasingly big belly. The other night I was on the couch and I could actually see my belly move. Talk about Alien flashbacks!!

I have been wondering about you!! I thought I heard a sigh of relief all the way over here…

:cheering: Congratulations on your baby boy!!

Hi Suzie~~Congratulations on your move to CNY and also on your new little one  I am also in CNY about 20 minutes north of Syracuse. There is a nice LYS in North Syracuse on Main Street called Mission Rose Quiltery and Knittery. I think it has been open a little over a year and the first time I went in, I just glazed over  . The women in there were really nice and helpful. They also have classes for knitting and quilting. (I don’t sew much, but the fabrics look wonderful!) I have never been to any other yarn stores, so I don’t have anything to compare the store to, but felt very welcome when I was in there. I hope you like CNY, we have had pretty mild weather so far this winter ( I hope I didn’t just jinx it  )

Again, Welcome to Syracuse!

ps. I would love to have a KHer’s get together also!

Welcome back and congrats!

Lisa - I saw that place too! It’s about a mile south of me at the most! I’m actually in Cicero. I found another place in Oswego that looks like it’s worth the drive: http://www.northwindyarns.com/
I was actually going to ask my MIL to go with me this weekend to the Mission Rose place and just check it out.

Give me another weekend or two (ok - a month) and I’ll post a separate topic to see who else is in the area and would like to get together. It will be tough though to plan around the snow belt activity!

Congrats! And welcome back! :cheering: :cheering: :XX: :XX: :happydance: :happydance:

I’m in Central Square but grew up in Cicero. Mission Rose is having a 20% off all knitting supplies and yarn on Superbowl weekend :happydance: ! I have not been to the place in Oswego, I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the link!

Can’t wait for a get together. I’d be willing to help in anyway you might need!

Great news, congrats and yes welcome to NEW YORK! You got a lot of beautiful places to see… I once spoke with an owner of a shop in or near Syracuse who was just soooooo darn nice, we had a great conversation. I wonder if it’s the place you are going to visit. Probably.
Anyhoo, have a good time & I’m sure the cats are having their own version of fun.

Nice to see you back and congrats on your move! Keep me posted of any NY get-togethers!

Congrats on the baby boy and the move to New York! We missed you and glad to see you are back!!
