OT: house update-need prayers

Several of you have been following my house issues…here’s a little recap.

we went through so many counter-offers that I thought I was going to throw up…finally settled on a price…the inspection found two big things wrong w/ the house…the chimney needed replacing and due to some caulking…the house would need repainting. The sellers agreed to do it (b/c the agent was cutting her commission) and we thought all was well and are beginning to pack 9we are due to close the 24th).

Then yesterday happened…the house didn’t apprase for the agreed selling price…which in theory should be good for us b/c the seller has to drop the price but we are dealing w/ a seller who moved off, left the house and is trying to make 2 payments at once. As a result…they’ve depleted their cash flow and the family member who was loaning money to them has now said she’ll give them no more. I just talked to the agent who said she’s trying to work it out but there has been mention of them deciding not to sell and to just rent the house for a while…

I love the house but not enough to come out of pocket for the difference. I’ve already turned in my notice to vacate on my apartment and I’m partially packed…I just keep praying that something will work out and we’ll get the house afterall…

Oh bummer. We had this happen to us - and nobody would budge, not the seller, nor either of the agents. We ended up walking away from the deal, and it created a huge issue because we had sold on our end. Things worked out though, we found something better in very short order.

Keep your chin up. Things will work out - they may not be how you expect, or even what you think you want…in the meantime try to breathe - and know we are all sending you cyber hugs!

Many hugs. We just went through a nightmare sale/closing ourselves so I understand where your nerves are at this point.

Hang in there. It will get better…it has to, right?
