OT--Flying (the) Coop! A Pictorial Essay

My dog Cooper is mildly insane, he takes after momma :eyebrow: .
We have a rousing game of catch in my apartment every evening and he enjoys creating obstacles for himself.

Thus, he cannot go around the couch…he must go flying over it. Why take the short cut to the ball next to the chair when he can attempt to crawl under? What’s life without a challenge?!!

I’ve been trying to catch him in flight for ages, cuz it’s impressive. I’ve finally got one–and though it doesn’t do his energy level any justice–I thought I’d share with y’all!

AlllleeeyyyOOP!

I’m coming to lick your faaaaaaaace!

On the search…

Getting closer…

FOUND ITTTT!!!

And now Ima take a nap!

This, by the way, is the view from inside my front doorway. And yes, this is my welcome home everyday. Remember how Hobbes always greeted Calvin? …yeah, it’s like that.

Who needs tv when you’ve got this kind of entertainment? :teehee:

I LOVE IT!!! :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

:inlove: SO CUTE!!!

My dogs aren’t big enough to jump over the couch, which is a good thing, but the sure love playing catch in the house! :cheering:

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!   I want a dog so bad!! :pout:

aw- great action shots!!! what a cutie

:teehee:
Glad I shared, hehehe.

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

Shhhhh…don’t let my daughter’s puppy, Pele, see the pictures. He’s already begun jumping on the couch. I can see the flying act becoming a part of his routine in the future.

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

Your dog certainly gives you plenty of reasons to smile, eh?

Pele is such a GREAT name for a rambunctious puppy, especially considering your daughter’s mad soccer skillz (I’m cool, yo):cheering:

And yup…I do plenty of laughing around here. And then he has the audacity to put on his cute eyes, lick my face and try to cuddle like a (much smaller than he is) lapdog. :flirt:

I think our Pele is going to be like your little, er BIG, guy.

He had the audacity to jump on the love seat tonight, with DH sitting on the other couch.

Dh: “Nathalie, come here.”

Me: “No” (I’m working on a paper for one of my classes…)

Dh: “Come quick.”

Me: “:::::Yawn:::::: He’s been doing that the last three mornings, only he usually throws his gorilla on the couch first.”

Mind you…we have NEVER allowed our dogs on the furniture before.

Here’s a couple of pictures…

And with the gorilla…which he think he’s killing because every time he grabs it by the stomach, the sound box in its belly emits a gorilla sound… :teehee:

Now, IF and WHEN Pele decides to do a bicycle (for you non-soccer fans, it’s when you throw your leg up in the air and kick the ball behind you, doing a bicycle motion in the air and flipping over backwards), I’ll try to capture it on camera. :roflhard:

:roflhard: :roflhard: What kind of dog is he?

He sure looks like he’s made himself comfortable Nathalie, good luck! :teehee:

Jan, not sure if you’re talking to me or Nathalie…but my dog is 100% Purebred MUTT  I’ve honestly got no idea, but it’s pretty clear that he’s got enough mixed up in there for enough generations back that the dominant breed is just “DOG.” Heheh, or maybe “rapscallion.”

ETA–My guy was also an animal shelter rescue. Yay! Growing up we had a collie shepard mix from a shelter, and then a Samoyed also from the shelter/rescue. All fantabulous doggies

Pele was a humane society save. He is a lab/heeler mix (in case your question was directed to me).
