OT/boring but true post

Knitting is addicting. (I’m ranting here so if you’re looking for something juicy or interesting, go answer a different post!)

Anyone who knows me well can attest that I am addicted to my job–I am fascinated by autism and I live to work w/ the students/teachers/families in my area to ensure that they are well supported and “looked after”.

Knitting is having the same effect. I can’t stop talking about it, doing it, etc.–I even dream about it!

Just a little rant…thanks for “listening”.

:?? What’s your point. Aren’t we ALL like that?

Just you wait. It is all down hill from here.

And hence why Amy and Sheldon developed this site… to make sure we were all taken care of, well supported, and looked after.
Thank God!! I have never been so hooked on something as I am knitting! I’ve been crafty all my life, but I swear… this seems to give some sort of meaning to my efforts. I hear the same things said by people I know that quilt. I think there is something about knitting, sewing, quilting, and crocheting that people love so deeply because you make things that are useful, enjoyable and really is a task that hasn’t changed much over the centuries. The same as your DH’s painting, whether on computer or with paints - ain’t it grand? :inlove:

I never really started dreaming about knitting until just recently and now it’s happening every night! Why in fact, just last night I had this dream where I was supposed to go pick up some beer and the beer run turned into a knitting supply run.

My DH even had a dream about knitting last night – well, kind of… He dreamt that he “borrowed” the throw that I’m working on and covered up with it and when he woke up, it was just a pile of yarn and he was all tangled up in it! He actually went downstairs to see if he had somehow unraveled my project in the middle of the night before he told me about it!

:roflhard: Id LOVE to hear what a therapist thinks of THAT one, Josie! :roflhard:

I am only afraid Im turning into a boring person to my non-knitting friends…all I talk about anymore is Knitting and Dogs, Dogs and Knitting. And knitting. And dogs. :shifty: Its not a problem when I hang out with you guys, or when I hang at the LYS, but none of our long-time frineds are knitters.

And, I dream about knitting ALL the time now!

My husband and son find it very amusing that I dream about knitting. I haven’t had any “fun” knitting dreams though (like dreaming about a shopping spree at my LYS). My dreams are all about me actually knitting! Knitting is really all I want to do right now. That means I should get off this board and finish my work so I can knit!

Alright now. I wanna have a knitting dream!! How come I don’t have em?

So good to see the bug has bit you Cristy :waving:

I haven’t had one yet either. I have been knitting for three years. This month is my knitiversary. When I am not knitting, I am on this site reading about knitting!

Oh my gosh…I was watching TV last night and saw this commercial with a sheep. I looked up from my knitting and thought, “INGRID!!” At least it was a CUTE sheep! :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

I’ve only had the one knitting dream–and I woke up tired b/c I was just doing the same stitch over and over…nevertheless–I’m good at that stitch now LOL!!

:roflhard: :roflhard:

 :roflhard: :roflhard:

:roflhard: At the IL get-together, I mentioned that I kept looking at people and picturing their avatars! There is just something about your avator, Ingrid … :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: !

I have to agree with Kelly – I’m afraid that between KIP, and talking about knitting, I’m a little worried that I’m boring my non-knitting friends :frowning: – I guess I just need to work harder to convert them to knitters!

I haven’t dreamed about it yet, but it surely takes up a large portion of my leisurely converstation - I think it’s exciting - and I think my friends appreciate it more than my excitement over cataloging library materials - I tend to try and make whatever I’m doing interesting and convince others it is exciting. I guess that’s called rationalization. But knitting really IS exciting! Just thinking about it is exciting! hee hee hee.

I’ve had several knitting dreams either I’m knitting or I’m planning a new pattern. As I was dozing off last night I saw a pretty eyelet pattern in the shadows of my room.

I am finding it harder to find conversation with my MIL or my non knitting friends. And last night when MIL took me and my dd shopping the whole time I was examining sweaters and trying to figure out “how did they do that?”

A dear friend of mine is moving to town and my dh said “Well I guess if he wants to hang out with you hes gona have to learn to knit.” Yikes! HA!

I dont dream about knitting, but I knit about dreaming…

And love to have you all! My real life friends dont knit, they dont like knitted stuff, and they are not interested at all in my knitting stuff…
