OT Blog help Another blog question page 2

Okay, I admit it…I’ve been seduced by blogging  This being said, I began my blogging today. I have all sorts of questions, I can’t seem to get the answers that I understand when searching on blogger…so, I come to you guys with my questions…TIA for the help
Okay, how do you capture a link on blogger like is done here?! I’ve searched on blogger, but I do NOT understand the answer!!!

Also, haven’t I read that we have KH buttons, how do I link from my blog to KH with the button?

THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Rebecca -

The basic code for a link is this:
what you want link to say

So, a link to KH would be:
KnittingHelp.com

This is how you put a picture on and when you click on the picture you go to the site.

You have to store your images on a computer or on line hosting site. The one I use is photo bucket. Here is a KH button - you are welcome to use the image off mysite (http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h97/sarajbc/Blog/KHbutton1.gif) if you want to.

I hope this helps!

Thanks so much…okay, how do I put the KH button on the sidebar?

 You just copy that code exactly as I posted it above (the one about the picture code

and it will pull the picture from the other site. You don’t actually SEE the picture until you republish the blog.

If you look on the right side bar, second section, you’ll see the button and how it links – My blog

Thanks a bunch!!!

With blogger you can also upload pictures directly from your computer to your posts. I use this little trick if I want to add buttons etc.

  1. Make a new post and add the picture in it(the little frame button in the panel)
  2. In the code for the picture you can also see the address where it’s stored
Now you can copy that adress and use it elsewhere. You don’t need to save the post you just made, but I save it as a draft, just in case I forget where the picture is.

Thanks, guys! I’ve started my little blog. I’m sure I’m going to call on you for more help! I’m often confused my computer jargon…lol, if I could paint it or knit it or…interpret it in an arty or a medical way it would be sooo much easier! I went to school for respiratory therapy, for goodness sakes, I don’t have the computer/electronics kind of brain…LOL!!

I was successful in putting a film loop in the footer, it wouldn’t fit in the sidebar, so I was pleased with that. Now, I must have some photographic software…yeah, baby

It looks great! When you are ready you should join the KH blog ring so we can all stalk you on a regular basis  (info is in the bottom of my signature).

:cheering: yeah! Good job!

 Thanks…I have virtually no idea what I’m doing…but, we live & learn, right?!
Okay, Sara, how on Earth do I join?!! I feel like such a puterdummy :rofling: :roflhard:

Well for being a puterdummy (:roflhard: ) the blog looks great!

Why, thank you, Miss Sandra

I have blogger and Ican’t get my stuff to post right. :crying:

I was looking at your photobucket stuff. Ya gotta love a woman who takes photos of the “many moods” of her Clapotis!

Don’t feel like a puterdummy - I just realized the link in my signautre doesn’t really get you where you need to go  my fault!!!

Hopefully this will help you join the blog ring. Go to -

http://khbloggers.blogspot.com/

On the right you’ll see “Join the Ring” section - click the “join” link in the small table. That will take you to the page to add it. Once you’ve joined it will give you some code that you can copy and paste right into your side bar to make the ring appear on your blog.

Here is the orginal post from when the ring started. If you have any problems you can PM me or post them here!

It looks great Rebecca! I started one on blogger, but it is all so over my head, and I don’t have time to twiddle with it, maybe this winter I can do more. I couldn’t even figure out how to put the smaller font beneath the title of my blog like you have under your Whimsical Knitting.

Rebecca, I am so glad you asked that question. I used to have the code for links and then lost it when I had a blog at Xanga. I’ve had one at WordPress since January and need that code for some things.

Yea! :cheering:

What’s the problem, maybe we can help?

YAY! It’s about time you have a blog. Going over to stalk now…

Kristen, the smaller font usage is a part of the blog template that I chose, I didn’t change the font size…I wouldn’t have a clue as to how to do that…LOL!!! Were it not for you guys on here, I wouldn’t have known how to add buttons, etc., although, it is easy once you find where it’s done  finding it was a bit of an adventure…LOL!! Now, I’m off to try to join the kh webring
