But I would like a hood to cover his whole forehead. Or it can be describe as ski mask with the whole face opened. Yes something like that. Now if I knew how to downsize and add more to the front to cover more of their forehead I would be golden!
I’m looking at the pattern and they call in a helmet. maybe that would help the search?

Hey I saw this last week, when I signed up here and thought I’d try that toddler hat. I am so lost in the decress part where you shape the top of the head. Am I reading it wrong? Even if I draw it out I get a really short thing on one side and a long thing on the other side. Where it says repeat till 14 stiches remain do you repeat the last 3 rows or the last 2 rows? I think the pattern might be wrong but I am a self taught fairly new knitter so I don’t really know.

Usually you do a dec row, then a plain row, then dec, plain, etc. I don’t know which pattern you’re using specifically to know how it’s worded.

It’s short row knitting[COLOR=Red][COLOR=Black]. The 2 sts k tog tbl are the one you slipped on the previous row and one new one from the left needle. That will eat up sts from both sides of the hood one by one.[/COLOR]

I read it wrong. I read sl1 as slip 11 rather than slip 1.
