One skein sockette help

I am making the pattern in the second post of this

http://forum.knittinghelp.com/t/looking-for-one-skein-sockette-pattern?t=95259

thread. I have knit the heel flap and am attempting to “turn the heel.” There are 30 stitches on each of two needles and the pattern says

Purl 17 sts. P2Tog., P1, turn
Slip 1, K6, K2 Tog, K1 turn
Repeat until all stitches have been worked. You’ll have approx 18 sts.

I can do the first two rows one time and then when I attempt to do the Purl row again I run out of stitches after I P2Tog. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

And thanks in advance.

You’ll be working back and forth on one needle for the heel.

Purl 17, p2tog, p1 and then turn. This will leave 10 on the needle that are not worked on this row.

Then you’ll do the sl1, k6, k2tog, k1.

Turn the needles to work the purl side. As you work back and forth, the p2tog and k2 tog stitches will be one that you just worked and one that is on the outer edge. You’ll keep ‘eating’ those stitches until they’re all used up.

Hope this helps.
