One piece sweater

Hi, I am “attempting” a sweater pattern (Margaret Hubert Original) one piece using only 2 needles…I have cast on and worked till garment is 7 inches…now the pattern says at the beg of next 2 rows “cast on” 29 stitches… How do I “cast on” additional stitches??? Got the pat from “free patterns” on this site if someone wants to check it out!!! Very puzzled…

Thanks Cheley

You can cast on using any of the single cast on methods described in the basic techniques section of videos here. Personally I use backward loop but is can be kinda tricky to knit into. Others like cable cast on, or knitting on cast on. Here’s the link:

so, what I need to do is cast on an additional number of stiches to my work? What is that purpose?

Thanks again

Those cast on stitches are for the sleeve edges.

It may have to do with armhole shaping, but I can’t figure out which pattern it is from this site that you’re working on. Which one is it??

I found the pattern - yes Ingrid is right, it is for the sleeve edges because this garment is knit in virtually one piece from cuff to cuff.

Thanks you guys… I knew I could count on all of you!!!

have a great day
Chele
