One needle knitting :d

i tried for a few days the normal knitting and i never got it. today i bought some good wool and a needle set :woohoo: . my mom knows to knit with one needle and taught me. i am doing way better than i did with the two needles! :woot:
so i am going to practice with one needle. so does anyone else know how to knit with one needle?

That sounds great! Are you talking about something like Tunisian knitting or Tunisian crochet? i haven’t tried it but it looks like fun to do.

I was thinking Tunisian crochet. I can’t figure how anybody could knit with one knitting needle, but what I don’t know could fill volumes and volumes. TC can look a lot like knitting.

Well, you can finger knit with 0 needles…

True. I was just looking at how to do that recently. You can also arm knit with 0 needles. I can get the no needles or 2 needles, even 3 needles for a 3 needle BO or join, but 1 I just don’t get. :??? I’m looking forward to learning more.

ETA Knitting in the round with DPN could use lots of needles and generally at least 4.

Interesting!! I remember watching an “I Love Lucy” episode- it’s the “Drafted” episode, where the girls think Ricky & Fred have been drafted, and they are knitting socks for the guys. Anyway, I watched Lucy working on hers, and she clearly only has one knitting needle-but she’s doing something with it! I just can’t tell what! LOL-I always thought she was just faking-now I wonder!

I would love to see this being done!

actually i don’t know much about knitting and all that all i know is that i love to do it and it is very interesting  lately i realized i am not knitting i am crocheting i guess :roflhard: and it looks like a plait at first!

Does your needle look something like this? crochet hook

yeah except mine is thinner :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: i use a 0.70 mm one n my mom uses a 0.85 mm one.

here is how the plait looks when we start out.

You might want to try the foundation single crochet and skip the chain. I found it was easier and gave a nicer edge. Some people don’t like it.

Now that we know you’re crocheting, it will be easier to help you when you have questions.

What a nice even starting chain! That’s a good way to start off a project!:yay:

noooooo!!!1 :roflhard: lol !!! this is not my picture. i said in another topic in “watcha knitting” part of the forum that i do not hav a camera and all that. this is from google images. :teehee: mine is not so neat!

With practice you’ll get your chains more even and consistent. As much as I dislike it, the best way to improve your skills is practice, practice, practice, then practice some more.

Oops, I must not have seen that thread before posting.

Like GG said, it will come with practice…

hehe its ok
n yes i am practising a lot.!!!

When do you expect to get your knitting needles?

We read a lot of messages here and it’s easy to forget what is said in another thread.

sorry i did not mean to be rude or anything… ;o

No problem. After you’ve read a gazillion posts and followed who knows how many projects, you’ll be trying to keep track of who said what, when, and in which thread too.

That looks like a crochet hook. You are NOT one needle knitting, but you ARE crocheting.
