One more ? on gansey sock/reading the chart

the gansey sock has a chart that contains blank squares with no explanation of what they represent. Should I assume I’m to knit those spaces? there’s a legend of the other stitches, and knit stitches are not listed. thanks!

Sometimes a white square means knit on RS… but sometimes charts will have a `no stitch’ block. It’s to keep the chart square when the knitting isn’t and you skip over that when making your stitches. You go on to the next block for the next stitch. If it looks like there should be a knit stitch there, make a knit stitch.

it’s a sock done in the round, not lacey or anything, so I don’t know what else it could be but a knit stitch. here’s a pic and link to the pattern.
