On the needles for a couple of weeks

Here’s my latest project in process. Someday it will be one side of a throw pillow for the sofa. I’m still slow on the needles, and confuse myself frequently on the pattern and which row I’m actually on.

I received a set of the Denise Interchangable needles for Christmas and thought this would be a good way for us to get to know each other. :inlove: They are very nice!

The yarn is Lion Brand, Wool Ease Thick & Quick super bulky in Oatmeal. The pattern is a ‘simple’ basket weave. Not so simple in my beginners hands, but I’m getting the hang of both working with a pattern and switching from knit to purl, back to knit and swapping needles without crossing up and twisting my stitches. Best of all, I’m having a fun and relaxing time.

Good for you! :cheering: That’s really pretty, it will be lovely finished. Sounds to me like you’re doing really great. Funny how knitting can be so relaxing, I find it is too.

Relaxing is what it, knitting, is all about. Good work, keep it up and you will enjoy the results.

Knitting should be relaxing. Post the results when you’re done.

That’s great that you are having fun. It looks very nice in natural colour. Please post a picture when you are done

Very nice!

This oatmeal color (as well as other neutral colors) is lovely, and the pattern you’ve chosen, though difficult for you, makes for a wonderfully textured pillow that will show off your knitting skills.

I’m so glad to hear you’re enjoying this process even with all its starts and stops and mess ups. So often this part of the learning stage frustrates people to the point of not wanting to knit anymore.

Lovely color and pattern! I’m so glad you’re enjoying yourself and your new needles! :yay: Looking forward to seeing the finished pillow… :muah:

that is going to be great when it is finished. I love what you have done so far and the yarn too.

Oh it’s looking so good! I do love tweed, and the oatmeal tweed is so classy! Good yarn, too. Lots of folks have had great success with it, and it holds up nicely, too!
