On Every Foll Row

I should know this but i don’t. two questions come up with this pattern. can someone help?

Pattern reads:
-BO 3 sts at beg of next 4 rows (OK)
-then dec 1 st at each armhole edge every other row 3 times (huh? that means only one armhole edge is being decreased)
-then on EVERY FOLL ROW 3 times (huh?)

here’s how i see it:

row 1 (RS): bind off three sts
row 2 (WS): bind off three sts
row 3: bind off three sts
row 4: bind off three sts
row 5: decrease 1 st at armhole edge
row 6: no decrease
row 7: decrease 1 st at armhole edge
row 8: no decrease
row 9: decrease 1 st at armhole edge
row 10: decrease 1 st at armhole edge
row 11: decrease 1 st at armhole edge
row 12: decrease 1 st at armhole edge

Does that sound right? Basically, translation for EVERY FOLL ROW is: every row?

But what about the strange armhole decrease only on one side of the sweater? I must be doing something wrong.

No, you can dec (not BO) at the beginning and end of the row. You’d dec on the next 3 RS rows.

On the next 3 rows - yes, every row.

Rows 1-4 sound right.

But then you need to decrease 1 stitch at [I][B]each end[/B][/I] of the rows for the two matching armholes. I use K2tog at the beginning of the row and SSK at the end to match the slant of the decreases with each armhole.

Or the other way around, depending on if you knit combined or the other ways.
