I am knitting a bag pattern found on the Lion Brand’s website…

The instructions are as follows:
…“Work in pattern as established and, AT THE SAME TIME, dec 1 st each end of center section every 8th row 7 times – 60 sts.”

What does …" dec 1 st EACH END of center section…"mean?! If it’s the center sections, where’s the ends?! WTF!!!

I was on a roll and now I’m at a dead stand still. Anyone out there to help?! :wall:

Maybe at the beginning of and halfway through the round?

but I’m not knitting in the round. I’m assuming that they meant that on row 8, dec at the beg and end of the row? Wouldn’t that make more sense?

I took that to mean decreasing at each end on the inside of the markers. I think when they say “center section”, they mean the stitches between the markers. Every 8th row where you’re supposed to decrease is a purl row, so I would purl one, slip my marker, decrease, purl to 2 stitches before marker, decrease those 2, slip my marker, purl the last stitch.

I sort of figured that out but wasn’t sure if I was right. I’m so glad you replied with the same solution. Great! I think that’s correct.

What would I ever do without!! :notworthy:
