Oliver pattern by Rowan

Hello everyone,

Completely at a loss how to interpret this. Would anyone be able to assist? I’m just starting to shape out the arms on a raglan on the back.

Dec 1 st at each end of next and 6 [8: 7: 9: 9] foll 4th rows, then on
foll 10 [8: 11: 8: 9] alt rows. 25 [27: 27: 31: 31] sts.
Work 1 row, ending with RS facing for next row.
Break yarn and leave sts on a holder.

Thank you!

Hi,

Let’s say the next row is row 1.

R1: Dec 1 st at each end

Next, dec 1 st every 4th row for N times, where N is 6, 8, 7, or 9 depending on the size you’re making. Assume smallest size, you’ll dec 1 st on each end of the rows 5, 9, 13, 17, 21, 25. (The rows in between are worked as per pattern.)

Then dec 1 st each end of every other row 10 times, so rows 27, 29, 31, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41, 43, 45

At this point you should have 25 sts left on your needle.
