# Ok the pattern is easy buuuut? increasing and decreasing

Im not sure about the decrease and increase? The underline and bold is where im not getting it. Do i decrease every 4th stich. and increase every 3rd stitch! IM CONFUSED!

Instructions:
Using 3.25mm needles, cast on 57 sts.
Rows 1 and 3: K1, *P1, K1, rep. from * across.
Rows 2 and 4: P1, *K1, P1. Rep. from * across.

Change to 4mm needles and knit across next row, inc 3 sts evenly spaced…60 sts.
Next row: Purl.
Eyelet row (RS): K1, *K2tog, yarn forward (under needle). Rep from * across, ending with K1.
Beginning with a purl row, work in st st until 8cm (3.25") from beginning, dec 4 sts evenly spaced across last WS row…56 sts.

When they say 3 st evenly across, that’s all you have to increase–3 stitches total. So every 20 stitches you increase once.

Same with the decrease, 4 total, spread out evenly.

On the increase row: knit 15, increase, knit 14, increase, knit 14, increase, knit 14 = 60 stitches.

on the decrease row: purl 11, P2tog, P10, P2tog, P10, P2tog, P10, P2tog, P11. Your 60 stitches is now 56.

Happy Knitting :XX:

Mary

Edit: This way the increases and decreases are spread across evenly and none are near the edges.

Hee, good for you. I didn’t want to do the math!
