What is entrelac? I saw the wrap and I love it, but have no idea what entrelac is. Can anyone clear the fog here for me?
Here’s some links that might help.
entrelac knitting is a way to knit checkerboard patterns by knitting small squares, picking up side stitches and making more squares with short rows and decreasing, it’s a little bit complicated when you think about it, but if you take it slowly and realize that you only need to know how to knit, purl, pick up stitches and decrease, it isnt that hard.
This site has some good pictures of the process - http://www.io.com/%7Ecjwyche/Entrelac/Entrelac.html
- it can be done in one color or more than one, or using selfstriping yarn.
eta: That’s the wrong link! Here’s the one I meant… http://wolfandturtle.net/Yarnpath/index.php/Yarnpath/comments/all_aboard_the_entrelac_express/
Here is a great pattern to use to help learn the stitch.
