I’m all for alpaca! 
LOVE it! I got mine today and have already been spinning with it; SO easy! Of course that doesn’t mean my yarn looks any good, but it’s still easier to maneuver. The color is called Just Peachy.
Ah here’s my 2nd spinning batch from this lovely ball of roving…definitely gonna hafta buy more! Yes it’s wound around my legs…I find it’s the easiest way to neatly wind it off the spindle!

Becca, have you considered making a PVC niddy noddy? I made mine for under $3…and it’s soooo nice to have. Beats winding off onto legs/found objects. 
I used 3/4" PVC for mine, 'cause I heard it was sturdier. My center piece is 13", and the smaller pieces are 3", but otherwise it’s just like this one: http://www.doctordirt.com/blog/niddy.html

I may have some alpaca fiber coming my way-- friend’s grandmother has an alpaca farm locally, and she’s going to try to beg a small amount of fiber for me to try-- yummy!
