# of stitches in (cross2 R, K4)

Using a pattern from a 1500 Patterns Book it says “multiples of 6”. If I move 2 stitches to the cable needle and K2 and then 2 stitches from cable needle and then K4 - isn’t that 8 stitches or do I not understand the stitch?

Welcome to the forum!
Generally the cable abbreviation gives you the total number of sts used. So 2 sts for the small cable (one to a cable needle, k1, k1 from cable needle) plus 4.

Thank you!
