ODD LOOKING LINES IN SWEATER

I just finished knitting a sweater with Anna, wool/cotton yarn. The right side is the Purl side. Now I notice that it looks like small lines “here and there” in the sweater. Is this because of the yarn having THICK & THIN parts in it? It looks fine on the wrong (knit) side. OR, is this because of tension? Do you think it will correct itself after blocking. I’m really disappointed. Thanks

It could be tension differences even with smooth yarn. A thick and thin yarn might accentuate this. Sometimes it’s called rowing out although this usually occurs a bit more frequently than you’re describing. Washing and blocking may help a bit but if it’s rowing out there is a basic difference between the tension in the knit and purl rows.

If you think it would help you can use the landscape icon at the top of the Reply box to add a photo.
