Hello,
Beginnerish knitter here with knitting conundrum.
Working on a simple garter stitch triangle shall (advanced for me!)
I have what appears to be a dropped stitch… Normally, I am perfectly OK with picking up dropped stitches and have even fixed a few while on this project already.
However, see attached photo… Where is the loop for the dropped stitch? There’s a ladder but I cannot find the loop… It doesn’t run down when I pull on it either, BUT I noticed one of the ladder rungs towards the top extends farther left than the other do… and I’m like… What the heck is that?!
Hoping to finish this project as a Christmas gift. Any advice or do I have to rip back my stitches ![]()
Welcome to the forum!
I don’t see a dropped stitch either. Are you working on straight needles or double pointed needles? When you come to this area in subsequent rows, be sure to tighten the yarn a bit to close up the gap. The yarn in each row of the current ladder can be redistributed along the row.
Use a smaller needle or tapestry needle to take up the loose yarn into the adjacent stitches.
The stitch that you’re pointing to wasn’t knit. The yarn strand goes past it to the next stitch to the left. You can drop down and pull the strand through that stitch just as you would repair a dropped stitch.
Your knitting looks lovely and even. This will make a wonderful gift.
I did exactly that and it worked. The yarn is still a little stretched looking down that line but luckily this dip dyed yarn is very forgiving to the eye.
Thank you for the help!
