I m starting the cuff on the Nutkin sock by Knitzi. Is there a video out there that shows how to turn down the purl row and knit together the cast on with the active row?

Are you trying to do a tubular cast-on?

You can google/YouTube search for videos under that technique.

This is a tutorial to work a stockinette hem. It’s worked flat, but the same principle applies when worked in the round.

I like that tutorial, Charlotte. The provisional cast on makes a very neat hem.
In case you’re not using the provisional cast on, here’s a video for picking up from the cast on edge. The hem starts at about 5min. The video uses a picot hem where your pattern has a purl row turn but the hem itself is the same idea.
