Okay, I’m attempting this hat pattern: http://www.headhuggers.org/patterns/kpatt05.htm

I just have a probably really easily answered question, for the yarn it says “Yarn - Worsted, dk, or any yarn held together in two strands to yield a gauge of 3 stitches/inch”, and so I’m confused as to whether, if I’m using worsted-weight yarn, I still need to knit with two strands. Help will be appreciated!

In order to get a gauge of 3 stitches per inch, you’d have to hold two strands of worsted together.

Thank you so much, haha, it seemed like a ridiculously stupid question, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

Dk isn’t that much thinner than worsted; 2 strands and the right needles would get you 3 sts/inch too.
