Not sure what this means

Dec row (rs): Knit and dec 4 sts evenly across row- 28 sts
I understand and did that…but this comes next:

*work 3 rows even
I dont know what this means!

Then pattern goes on to say:
*Rep (last 4 rows) 6 times

Repeat which last 4 rows?

Thank you for any help!!

Generally, work even means not to increase or decrease—keep the same number of stitches as the previous row.

The four rows to repeat are the last four you just did. Decrease four stitches in row 5 then knit evenly for three rows. Decrease four stitches in row nine then work evenly for three rows. Usually they tell you how many stitches you’ll have after you do all the repeats. This helps me know if I’ve done the correct number of rows/repeats.

Thank you, Beth! I get it now!

Wonderful ! Glad I could help!

I would say work 3 rows even means work 3 rows without any change.
Your 1st decrease row, plus the next 3 ‘even’ rows make up your 4 rows which have to be repeated 6 times.
Sorry, just seen you are sorted!

Thank you, Jubsy!!

Did you get the answer? We irk even just means you work the rows as you’ve just got them now set up. When it tells you to repeat the last x rows, it wants you to treat these rows like a wee set. You’re gradually decreasing. Do the dec row, then the even rows, then you repeat this wee series as many times as specified
