My poor second sock…I was on my gusset decreases, and put it down to help Adam do dishes…came back and Cooper had been poking at it. After 20 minutes of trying to pick up dropped stitches, I threw in the towel, unravelled, and re-cast on. Too bad I hadnt followed my own advice re lifeline!
Not a cat-astrophe, but a dog-astrophe
I sympathize! Silly animals! :XX:
My husband just handed me a FT clog – my very first set of clogs and 1st felting project – which my Golden Ret. has now chewed a hole in the sole . It is one thing when the store bought slippers get chewed…but I spent soooo much time creating the clogs – Trigger is sooooo lucky he is adorable!
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I so feel your pain on that! That is truly a dog-astrophe! At least my socks can be re-done!
How badly mangled were they? Have you tried bitter apple?
Holly, you could use a felting needle to attach and felt a patch in the same yarn… I’ve not done it, but I’ve read you can do this, and it’s supposed to be perfect for holes worn in felted slippers. Why not for holes chewed in felted slippers? Hildie’s our resident felting-needle expert if you have Q’s.
Oh no! comfort
I hope Hildie can help you with the repairs…is it too late to attach those leather clog soles?
Thanks for the advice . Since Trig only chewed through one of the two soles, I bet a patch would work well
. I feel better already!
How old is your golden? My boy generally just loves to carry socks and snort yarn - he is a total horror when it comes to food, but once he turned two he really has settled down and is such a nice boy. (he is a big black lab - see my blog link for a picture of Cooper)
