I’m not a blogger so I dont know how this works- its nice to chat about my projects though.
I’m a mom of one. He’s 3 and has cerebral palsy. It doesnt define who he is but I mention it so people will realize that I truly have my hands full even though I dont have other kids.
I have far too many knitting projects on the go- I cant help buying more and more yarn! I knit baby blankets mostly. I have started my first intarsia project and have really gotten in over my head. I keep procrastinating on it - but it really needs to be done. (tigger blanket from deborah’s knitting)
I promised to make a tank top for a friend and a poncho for another friend. I’m about to have a nephew in the fall and am making an elephant blanket for my niece for Christmas! The elephant has crochet around the edge and I dont know how yet! I must be crazy!!!
All of the stuff will get finished in due time. But for now I am knitting at my leisure. I have a hair business and am taking schooling as well. If it sounds like I dont have time- I dont. I Make time because I Love to knit. Perhaps charity will be my next thing.
Hi Sissy!
It does sound like you have your hands full! All children require large amounts of time, but a child that is less-abled does require more. Knitting is a good thing to take a break with and calm your mind.
We all have vast amounts of yarn and projects going. It’s a disease that no one wants to recover from.
I have decided that after I am finished my 2 intarsia projects currently on the go, I am NEVER going to knit another project using intarsia again!!! Its so frustrating! I’m taking a breather from knitting to give my hands time to heal- I dont have arthritis- but my hands really hurt. Besides, I just recieved my new shipment of schooling materials. The quicker I can get it all the done, the sooner I can start making money!:knitting:
A while ago I posted a thread about a hair salon. Thanks for all the naming suggestions but the deal fell through.
I’m still bummed out about it but I’m busy with other stuff for the moment. Like selling Avon . I like it but you have to sell a lot of stuff to make a small amount of money.
Anyway. I have decided to finish all of my knitting projects by October 1 so I can start making stuff for the Christmas Farmers market. I want to make knitted sachets and coffe sleeves as well as dishcloths and padded hangers. Which by the way, Does anyone know where I can buy padded hangers?
I’m going to be a busy lady the next few months- I have LOTS of projects underway (and thats just the knitting end.)
I enrolled my little boy in a library program that runs all summer on Mondays and Thursdays and I am currently looking for a place that offers water therapy for kids with disabilities. So, I’m a busy mom- but I Love every second of it. The only part I have mixed feelings about is him starting preschool in the fall ! My baby isnt such a baby anymore!
It seems that my projects mentioned were a little too ambitious! I still have last year’s knitting leftovers that didnt get finished. Life just got in the way.
Just wanted you all to know that my (almost)4 year old has just started walking around the furniture!!! We are so excited and are going to throw a huge party when he is able to walk! That made my day and I just wanted to share my joy!
:woohoo:
Yea !
That’s great! :yay:
WONDERFUL News!!
