Me too!!! It’s so nice not to be the only one. Funny story: On my very first date, the guy ran into one of his buddies and introduced me as “Melissa.” Needless to say, we didn’t go out again. (He was an octopus too–ew!)
And I always have to spell my name, b/c I only have one “l” in it. (Although the majority of my relatives spell it with 2…sigh)
I can’t believe I haven’t checked our North Carolina thread in so long! I’m BAD! :help:
Our next get-together is scheduled for Saturday, June 9th at 12:00 Noon at Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury (halfway between Charlotte and Greensboro).

It will be outside, and we will each bring our own food for a picnic lunch. Everyone is welcome to bring their whole family, and the kids can all play together. That day is World Wide Knit in Public Day, so we’ll be able to knit in public together!

I think that it might be nice to get all the Charlotte knitters to ride together to our get-together. Maybe we can all meet somewhere and carpool. (a mall parking lot?)
If we use my hubby’s car, I’ll have room for myself and 3 or 4 others. I’ll be able to fit 2 people in the front (including myself), and 2 or 3 in the back seat.
Or, maybe one of you has an SUV? We could each pay 5 dollars for gas to the person who drives.
The only one I know about is our get-together at Dan Nicholas Park! Our next get-together is scheduled for next Saturday, June 9th at 12:00 Noon at Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury (halfway between Charlotte and Greensboro).

No problem!! My hubby called this morning and used his card to reserve two picnic tables for us. (Unfortunately, the shelters were all taken) :pout: We have the tables reserved ALL DAY, from 10 AM until 8 PM. :happydance: There is also a grill there if anyone wants to use it. (But you’ll be responsible for manning the grill on your own.)
We will be using Table I (the letter - not the number)
It’s reserved in my name - Sandy Davis
(They say the tables are in the shade, but bring sunscreen just in case.)
I think it would also be a good idea for us to bring some lawn chairs too, just in case we need them. We HAVE to be able to sit and knit!
Michelle, I knit with whatever I can find, but I seem to have trouble knitting with wood or bamboo. I guess it’s because I am a tight knitter.
I’ve always wanted the Options needles, because they look a lot like Addi Turbos (which I absolutely ADORE!).
Knitting4babybear gave me a set of Denise needles, and I bought some extra cables (pink) for them. I like them because they are lightweight, and SO EASY to put together. You just put them together and twist. And they don’t come loose as I’m knitting.
I also have a set of Boye Interchangeables that I bought from Kirochka for a song. I like them too, but they tend to come loose sometimes as I’m knitting. I try really hard to tighten the joins, but my tendonitis keeps me from getting them tight enough sometimes. :pout:
So, I guess to answer your question, I knit with LOTS of different needles. But, like you…I want to try the Options.
