Noro Bettna Cardigan Question

I didn’t know if someone here might be able to help me. I am JUST starting my Bettna tonight and looking at the pattern I’m knitting a lower back, lower right front and lower left front. The pattern says to knit so many rows and then switch to stockinette. I was wondering if I should slip stitch the stitches at the beginning of each row to make them easier to make up later OR if that will cause a gap. :frowning: What would you do? Straight knit it all or slip stitch?

If you’re seaming the pieces together, many people say slipping the first st is not a good idea. The technique for slipping a stitch at the edge is to make a neat looking edge and since these sts will be hidden in the seam, it’s not necessary.
