Nice even stitches

I jumped on the board to post my question and nearly forgot it! Instead I spent 1/2 hour just reading everything lol

But I DO have a real question - how do I improve my stitches?
Right now my stitches are all a bit off kilter. On the V side one “leg” of the V is longer than the other. Kinda like a check mark - though not that extreme.

Also try as I might I have having some dexterity issues with tensioning my yarn. Both the fore-finger wrap and the pinky wrap feel really sloppy.
So far I have just been squeezing my second joint down on the yarn on my fore-finger. Any suggestions?

Even tension is something that just COMES with practice. Finding “your way” to hold/wrap your yarn will help alot. Just keep knitting!

I’m in a similar boat. It feels like the yarn is too lose, and when I try to correct my tension I end up with hand spasms from holding it so tight! O.O I don’t know why, it’s the same way I hold my yarn for crocheting but whenever I knit like that it’s awful! Lately I’ve tried wraping the yarn around my wrist/forearm once and then it goes over my forefinger. Somehow the drag from going across so much skin seems to keep the tension better, but I have no way to change the tension so if I need to tighten up or something it becomes a chore.
