Newboy cap or page boy cap pattern wanted

im looking for a KNITTINg pattern for a pageboy or news boy cap compleate with a Bill as my best friend calls them. i saw one in a picture of a model in the march2005 shape magazine in the artical workout buddies. it looked perfect for what i want but i don’t know were i could get a pattern for it.
i wish i could share a picture but my scanner is down right now. i tried to go to the site but they don’t keep pictures just the articles.
to describe it, it has a large bill and looks like a kinda rib stitching. in a octigone shape. :XX:

something strange since i started knitting i knotice every knit artical of clothing in magazines…never did that before.
sorry for all spelling mistakes…

Were you looking for one in kids or adult size?

oh i thought i included that part  im looking for an adult size hat. by the way you haven’t seen the one i was talking about in shape magazine?

This has one they call a newsboy, but isn’t not really what I picture in my mind. Maybe I’m thinking more of what I think are golf caps? I think says that felting gives it more the newsboy cap shape.

Stitch 'n Bitch Nation has a Headline News Cabled Newsboy cap pattern in it. I’m unable to post a picture right now (my camera is broke) but maybe you can find a picture of it.

 :XX: thanks for the info i actually forgot about this book series. she does have some cool stuff. i just put both books on reserve at the library so hopefully i will find what your talking about as soon as they come in. :happydance:

i just started crocheting a cap… (i just learned how to crochet  last night)
have a new purse/sack on the loom

thinking about starting my first sweater.

really digging the poeple and info on this site.

this i found this pictureon the net she said she got it from stitch and bitch so i was wondering if it was the same pattern your talking about.
anyway its not quite what im looking for but i probably will take a stab at it anyway :XX:

what about this one

after looking again it’s crochet. Sorry :frowning:

wow thats very close! just difference being this is a crochet pattern and the one i want is knit… but that is just about right. looks very simular.

after two days of trying to fix scanner it still says sorry scanner cannot communicate with computer grrrrrrrrrr… :?? :?? :?? :??

also this week i learned to crochet and i decided i really don’t like crocheting even if i know how to do it now, rather stick to knitting

ok i did it i finaly got a scanner (went to my moms house) to scan this picture so you all can actually see what i am looking for. the difference i think in this hat and the one talked about in a previous post is the fact that it has more shaping to it. note how each ribbing comes to a point. then fits more shaped on the head? as if the top would lie flat if you put it on a table top. also the bill is a little different than a lot of the ones i have seen.
:XX: i took it to my knitting group and there was a toss up as to whiether it was knit or crochet. i wish i knew how to write a pattern then i could just whip one up for this  . still the pattern has to bee out there somewhere.

i started working on the newsboy cap pattern found on pattern generator, see how that turns out. :cheering:

Thats crocheted. I think someone posted a pattern above that was very similar to that hat, just with a different brim, but you can just change the brim… I suggest using one of the conversion charts that are out there knit to crochet or whatever…just use it backwards!
