Newborn cardigain

Pattern says:

K11 Rows ending with a rs row.
Inc row ws. K1,M1, k to end (55)
K3 rows without shaping
Continue inc at neck edge as set by inc row on next and foll 3 alt rows, then at neck edge of foll 2 rows (61)

Next row: Cast on a k7, k to end
k2 rows
shape underarm rs, cast off 36 st k to end.

The bit I am stuck on is cast on k7 as it should be on a ws row but it’s rs.

on the inc at neck edge should I have knitted a normal row after the last m1 increase?

Thanks

Hayley

Yes, I get the “CO 7sts” on a RS row as well.

You can probably work an extra row without any problem but it would be interesting to know:
Which side of the cardigan is this? Are you knitting top down?

It’s the right front but it’s knitted all in one, which I’ve never done before, then the arms and sides are sewn up to complete it. It’s top down from the neckline and the left side is on stitch holder.

I knitted an extra row in there and it seems to look fine, fingers crossed
