Newbie needs help finding a pattern

I am knitting some fingerless gloves for a 2 year old and a girlfriend. The mom of the 2 year old mentioned having convertible mittens(the flip top.) And my gf wants the same. I can do the fingerless gloves fine, but I am having trouble finding a good pattern to do the top part. Actually, I have found a decent pattern for the bigger pair, but having no luck finding a flip top mitten pattern for a 2 year old.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I’m no expert, in fact I’m more of a newbie myself. However, I would just use the same pattern with smaller yarn and needles. That’s what I’m doing for little hats for the compassionate KAL.

That is what I was considering. I figure, the best way to learn is to just do it huh?? LOL
