Newbie knitter

I’m knitting a baby blanket (hearts and texture set) and it reads the following:

Strip A (Make 3) = The color I have chosen is Green

With A, cast on 19 st = i’m using circular needles (size 10mm) does that mean I would muliply the 19 st by 4 ins which would mean cast on 76? and what cast on method should I use?

**work Chart I in stocking st to end of chart reading knit rows right to left and purl rows from left to right

1st row: (RS). With MC, knit inc 4 sts evenly across. 23 sts. = The color I have chosen is pink.

I’ve just started knitting and i’m having a hard time understanding how to knit with 2 colors. Can somebody please help me out?

Amy has a video on intarsia which shows how to change colors.

This is also a good site for learning how to do intarsia.

You can make the pattern as wide as you want, but you might want to consider putting a few rows of seed stitch between the blocks to set them off from each other. That’s up to you entirely, of course.

Thank you so much, but I’m still abit unclear about what cast on method would work best and how many cast on I should be applying. Are there any other suggestions?

I’d go with long tail cast on just because it’s my favorite and works for almost everything.
